Disruptive Behavior Policy
Hope Chapel Preschool makes every effort to provide an atmosphere that is conducive to learning; physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Therefore, teachers use methods of discipline such as positive reinforcement and redirection. When children receive consistent positive, nonviolent, and understanding interactions from adults, they develop appropriate self-concepts, problem-solving abilities and self discipline. However, when redirection and positive reinforcement are not effective and the child’s behavior presents a continued risk to self/others AND repeatedly interferes with other students preschool experience the plan of action is as follows: Stage 1: The child will be temporarily removed from the situation. Should any injuries occur, incident reports will be completed. Stage 2: Parent will be called and the child removed from the classroom for the day. Stage 3: Parent, teachers, and director will schedule a conference to discuss strategies for future prevention. Stage 4: Project Enlightenment is called for an evaluation. Stage 5: Based on Project Enlightenment’s evaluation, a plan of action is established. Stage 6: Meeting with parents, teacher, and director to review and agree/sign a plan. Stage 7: If plan is not followed by student or parents, and/or there is no measurable improvement in child’s behavior, Hope Chapel will disenroll the child. Tuition for the month will not be refunded. Although our staff will make every effort or work with your child, Hope Chapel Preschool has the right to disenroll a student at any time should they be a risk to self/others or repeatedly interfere with other students learning experience. |
